If you are a prosecutor or a defender, then your first job is to identify a witness; once that job is done well you can forge ahead with the norms to follow while dealing with a witness. There are of course different kinds of law that prescribe you to follow certain well defined norms when it comes to dealing with the witness. • The behavior of the witness should be kept in mind, the character of the witness and his or her reputation matters as well.

Keeping all this in mind, it would not be a difficult job to speed ahead in your investigations. Remember not to force any information out of your witness as that may cause more harm than good. Also do keep a good track of the latest changes in the law of the witness protection program.

It isn’t a big deal to gather true information from a witness if you are aware of your witness’s personality and deal carefully with them!
